There's no longer a fixed schedule for MAME releases, although they usually happen near the last Wednesday of every month.
Notification
To get a notification when a new version is released, create a GitHub account, go to MAME's GitHub, go to the releases page, then click Watch → Custom → check Releases → Apply.
